Seeing a Sin constantly is Equivalent to Committing it.

…do not consider any sin which you see to be insignificant. This is because seeing a sin constantly is equivalent to committing it. When this happens, the hearts become devoid of the light of differentiation and rejection. When evils frequent the heart and when they are repeatedly seen by the eyes, their seriousness and their denunciation disappear from the heart to the extent that a person sees them but he does not even consider them to be evils and he does not even think that they are sins. This is because the heart has become used to committing them. [286]

Kuntum Khayra Ummatin-Allah Taãla states that one reason for this Ummah being titled as the best of Ummahs, is the practice of ‘commanding good and preventing evil’. Allah, the Almighty, has prescribed ordinances, which should not be neglected, outlined some limits which should not be contravened, and has forbidden some things which He has deemed inviolable. Every one of us have the duty to spread the message of Allah and prevent others from going astray. do not consider any sin which you see to be insignificant..Prophet. (PBUH) said , “Whosoever from among you witnesses evil, he should change it with his hands. And if he is unable to do so then he should change it with his tongue. And if he is unable to do so with his tongue, then he should at least consider it to be wrong. And this is the weakest stage of Imaan.” (Mishkãt) Similarly, if people do not prohibit evil and sin in the society, the entire society – innocent and evil – will equally suffer. Abu Hurayra (RA) states that Prophet(PBUH) said, “Command good and prohibit evil or else Allah will send such a punishment that will destroy everyone.” (Ibid)
